Supplemental Toilet Tank drawing

The Supplemental Toilet Tank provides additional water for flushing low-flow volume toilets and helps to prevent low-flow toilet flushing problems, such as clogging and overflowing.

The Supplemental Toilet Tank is designed to prevent sewer line backup, and other flushing problems with water-saver toilets.

A 1999 survey by the National Association of Home Builders Research Foundation found that new-home buyers experienced difficulties with their low-consumption toilets that included problems such as clogging and overflowing.

The Supplemental Toilet Tank provides additional water for flushing via a plastic tube that extends down into the integral tank. A vacuum pump, connected to the upper portion of the supplemental tank, causes reduced pressure in the upper interior of the supplemental tank, enabling it to fill with water. When the toilet is flushed, water flows out supplemental tank into the integral tank to aid in flushing the toilet. This unit requires no change to existing plumbing.

BENEFITS

  • Complete removal of waist products from commode
  • Keeps the sewer lines from the house to the main clear
  • Helps prevent flushing problems with water-saver toilets, such as sewer line backup or clogging
  • The additional water provided by the Supplemental Toilet Tank uses less water than a second flush of a commode

FEATURES

  • Consists of three parts: an inverted air chamber, a vacuum pump, and a vacuum switch
  • The inverted air chamber sits on top of an existing commode water tank, with the opening below the water line.
  • The vacuum pump pulls water up and into the inverted air chamber
  • A vacuum pump automatically turns the pump off when the inverted air chamber is full
  • When the commode is flushed the intergral tank empties along with the supplemental (inverted) water tank
  • Once the integral tank is refilled, the supplemental inverted air chamber refills automatically due to a vacuum chamber effect in the inverted air tank caused by the vacuum pump
